Yao went to do the trees by following tutorials on how to create stylised tree leaves using Blender then exported into Unity. I wanted to try out using the particle systems in Blender to create the leaves. This is another style than what's shown in using the blocky trees like in the poster image on the WSA games website, they will be compared to be considered on which style to take after the feedbacks from the Science & Engineering Fair that will be held next week.

LOD System This rendering technique adjusts the complexity of 3D objects based on their distance from the player camera, which can optimise performance by reducing detail on distant objects while maintaining high quality for nearby elements. This will be applied on assets that we will frequently use in the environment scenes.

From the results, the colours of the leaves look a bit off, which could be related to the normals of these individual plane meshes. We would work with it like this for now for the alpha build of the project. Later, I will look into testing making the bushes following similar method of these leaves to see if it would cause the same outcome. If it doesn’t appeal to us from this visual after these testings, then I would try to update the blocky trees I made for the promotion poster banner with its material texture painted.
