The story consists of documenting unique items and encounter, which will appear alongside the species that players can interact and talk to. This section will focus on the main plot and the environment clues that players will find throughout their exploration. The section for species is already covered in our project proposal Narrative & Characters .

As you live on a normal day resting on a “self-claimed” best spot to overview the daily acts of the tribe on a distant hill, you noticed that the quakes of the land appears more harshly than ever before. Occasionally, you hear an abnormal outcry coming from below, piquing your curiosity to find the source of this unusual occurrence.

After asking around only to find minimal information about the event, you find out that the shaking is far worse in other villages and biomes. You are told by the Chief that by exploring the different biomes of this land, it is more likely for you to find clues that will slowly but surely help you achieve your goal. Knowing this, you set off on an adventure to uncover the secrets of this land.

Clue obtained: The ground is shaking a lot more recently.

The player will uncover the secrets of the past while travelling through each biome. Picking up clues and old high-tech ruins, which leads to the conclusion that they were not the only ones that lived on this land.

Clues obtained: It seems like the existence of a past civilisation is not just a bedtime story.

Judging on pieces of old and still bright ores within brilliant shards of artifacts, a story is formed that reveals a sad tale of a civilisation having lost to the wars of disaster and wiped from the world. From the ruins of the old civilisation, players can piece together clues that link to prior extinction events uncovered by the old.

Clues obtained: This feels familiar? It reads like a story I know.

A short eruption with a loud roar will happen in mid-point of the story after players have pieces together the clues about the old civilisation. Shaking the screen and have sounds of rocks falling.

Clues obtained: The earthquake moved with the sound of a terrifying cry.

Make the centre of the large body of water foggy to cover up Forgotten Past. Have the character walk the whole circle (it will feel like a straight line) and interact with the opposite side of the mountain.

Clues obtained: I walked back to the mountain next to my homeland. Is the world a circle?

When the players acquire all the required clues from exploring and interacting with the world, they piece together the conclusion, revealing a sentence with similar meanings to “This entire world lives and depends on a giant creature unknown to us. We are simply humble critters that clean its back”.

Upon completing the sentence, it will trigger a cutscene where the sketchbook is closed, and the players look up from the sketchbook to hearing a loud roar featuring the screen shaking before it all fades to black.
