To indicate interactable objects a sparkle will be present in objects so I followed a tutorial to create a sparkle. The final result is satisfactory for our current prototype but I want to dive deeper into the particle system for Unity so the sparkle might change in the final version of the game.

Photo Mode Recording Clues in Sketchbook After Ross’ help with making the objects in the photo detectable and stored in the sketchbook, I found that if players have not found the objects prior to taking a picture of it, it will find the clue as well after a picture is taken because of the F key having the same function as interaction. Will need to have a discussion if this needed to be changed with Yao.

Terrain Work Due to the insufficient amount of tribe assets and no player tribe model NPCs the content of the game will not cover the player's home tribe. The species that will be available in the alpha build are all in the Homeland Prairie, so I worked on expanding the terrain in the game to inhabit the 3 species and the ruins in the alpha build.

Changes to the Day and Night Cycle The current time of day when the game starts is set at night which is not the desired time so I changed the rotation of the directional light which is in charge of changing the sun and moon in the skybox therefore the time of day to appear like a sun rise. The time of a cycle will be 20 mins which gives 10 mins of daytime and vice versa.

As I am also working on the terrain, I found 2 styles of water that fits with our style. When testing out the water shaders I encountered a problem with the URP water shader and because of the deadline and other bugs that I need to work on for the alpha build I used the Idyllic fantasy water instead as placeholders for when I sculpted the terrain.

Note: Yao has followed the set up in the review of the Unity Asset Store and made the water work.
